HC directs Kingfisher Airlines to pay over 52 lakh to pilot

2-1170x350

The Delhi High Court has directed the now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines to pay over 52.6 lakh to a co pilot as outstanding salary and other dues.

Captain K Sahaja Chowdary had approached the court last year in a plea alleging that she had not been paid salary or any other dues between August 2012 to April 2014. The court of Justice Jayant Nath in its recent order directed the airlines to pay the Rs 52,61,450 with nine per cent interest from the date of filing till recovery of the amount as well as cost of litigation, taking into account a similar judgment of the High court in March 2014.
The court in its order referred to a 2011 letter sent to the pilot by which her salary was revised to Rs 2.24 lakh per month.
